January 1-March 31, 2025
January-March will be spent researching, researching, and researching! Silent Whiskey will require a TON of research, so I’ll need the beginning of the year to kickstart my research process.
1 Year Countdown
March 1-31, 2025
March will be spent working through Book in a Month by Victoria Lynn Schmidt and narrowing down my one-year timeline for the publication of Silent Whiskey, which will be released in March 2026.
Camp NaNoWriMo
April 1-30, 2025
April will be either another month of research or the beginning of outlining. Thank goodness Camp NaNoWriMo allows you to set your own goals. For now, mine will be to write 20,000 words of something. I’ll also be narrowing down my characters in April.
153 Days for First Draft
June-October 2025
I’ve chosen to start writing the first draft of Silent Whiskey in June since my job gets a little less busy in the summer. I’m also planning on making a trip or two in the early fall to some local spots that could serve as inspiration for Silent Whiskey.
NaNoWriMo 2025
November 1-30, 2025
It is finally here – NaNoWriMo 2025! I will be taking part in my second NaNoWriMo as Melissa Poole, since
the first was such a bust, and editing the first draft of Silent Whiskey during NaNoWriMo 2025. Look for regular blog and Instagram posts throughout November.
Finishing Out the Year
December 1-31, 2025
December will be spent working on my book blurb, sending my finalized second draft to be proofread, commissioning a book cover, working on my book release marketing plan, and getting an author photo taken. I’ll be all ready for release in March 2026!
